You might've heard about the balanced diet, but do you know about the rainbow diet? Well, the rainbow diet is all about consuming fruits and vegetables of various colors everyday, because different colors are associated with different nutrients and health benefits. Here are a few examples:
Red: Tomatoes, watermelon, apple, cranberries and etc are essentials to keep your health healthy as they mitigate the risk of stroke and cancer.
Yellow/Orange: Carrots, mangoes, pumpkins, papayas and etc reduce inflammation, improve vision and strengthen the immune system. Moreover, they nourish the skin.
Blue/Purple: Blue berries, eggplant, prunes, black berries and etc contain a high Vitamin B content, anti-ageing features, sharpen memory, reduce blood pressure and lower the risk of heart diseases and arthritis.
Green: Beans, chickpeas, lentils, broccoli, cabbage and etc help lower cholesterol and blood pressure, strengthen bones, and are a major source of folic acid, Vitamin K, and Omega-3.
